But from the release of their first Christmas song, “PTXmas,” in 2012 to their latest, “Evergreen,” this fall, they’ve long been known for delivering classic fare.
As part of their new tour – their first since the start of the pandemic – Pentatonix will be bringing their sound and more holiday cheer to venues around the country on the 12th, that’s December.

“After releasing 84 Christmas songs, you’d think we’d be sick of it,” Hying, 30, said in a recent interview.
“But what I mean when I say that is really no,” he said. “It’s a very happy time of year, and it’s a fun kind of music. We’re making an album for Christmas and people’s memories, it’s great.
That’s a good thing, too: the fact that Grassi, Hoeng and Maldonado — childhood friends and high school choir members in their hometown of Arlington, Texas — are still making music together.

“We have been singing together for a long time, since we were little we used to imitate each other, and this combination was born,” said Hoeng.
As a professional entertainment agency, Pentatonix has its roots in the trio who pooled their vocal gifts to cover “Telephone” by Lady Gaga.
“My friend’s brother posted it online and it went viral,” Hying said. “It’s like the first taste, ‘Oh, that’s something special.’

And in 2011, the group — which grew to five members, including Olsula and former member Avi Kaplan — won week after week on NBC’s a cappella competition, “The Sing Off.”
“We won the show,” Hyeung said. And ten years later, we’re still doing it.”
“It’s our whole life,” he said. “And then, because of Covid, we stopped for a year and a half.”

“We didn’t get to hang out physically, but we had a lot of legal meetings,” Hoeng said. “We released an EP at home.”
“There are different types of songs (on the new album),” Hoeng said. “There are some intimate moments that are just a little more folksy and bluegrass-y. We have a Joni Mitchell mask; we do ‘I Saw Three Ships’ with a lot of stomping and clapping. “We did that for this album.
As part of the Dec. 12 show, selections from “Evergreen” will be performed along with many other holiday standards.

“All you hear is people like, ‘Mary, did you know?,’ ‘Hallelujah,'” Haying said. “This is our biggest show and our longest list yet.”
“It’s wild,” he said. “We have our own things to do, and they can fill a field.”

The a cappella group is known for their Grammy-winning arrangements, such as their cover of Dolly Parton’s “Julian” and their Daft Punk medley. Pentatonix is also known for releasing Christmas and holiday music.
This includes their version of “Mary Do You Know”, which currently has over 110 million streams on Spotify. Their first single titled “Christmas for Me” has over 50 million Spotify plays.

] did really well on YouTube, and it was fun, so we made another album after that.
Pentatonix did not appear on their 2020 holiday special. However, some fans are wondering if these artists will return to NBC this holiday season. However, as of October 2021, Pentatonix has yet to release a holiday TV special.

More information may be released in the coming weeks. Until then, there are Christmas shows for fans, including PTX’s official online “Holiday Home.”
Previous years have brought Pentatonix to other holidays, including the “Disney Parks Parade.” The group performed “Santa Claus Comes to Town” at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios.
. But just in time for the holidays, the band unveiled their new holiday album, Evergreen. The album featured new Christmas favorites such as “Frosty the Snowman” and “It Came Bright at Midnight”.

This holiday season, PENTATONIX will kick off the 16th PENTATONIX Christmas Tour 2019, presented by SiriusXM, which will take place at the HULU Theater in New York on November 30th and December 1st at Madison Square Garden. Start with two images. The tour continues in Boston, Philadelphia and elsewhere before concluding with two shows at the Arlington Theater in Grand Prairie (December 22 and 23).
